What is an Open House and what to Expect?

Hollywood Curling schedules a few open houses through out the year. At an open house we open the doors to the public for an introduction lesson in Curling, the Olympic Sport. Those who attend our open houses have most likely never tried the sport before. This makes a perfect opportunity to come out and try it, without any pressure. We start with an introduction video. Thereafter we conduct an Ice safety meeting prior to entering the Ice rink. About an hour into the Ice instructions you will be ready for a game! We let you loose to play the game for the rest of the night with minor adjustments and instructions. If you like it, then you can come back for a learn to curl clinic and advance on to our league.
 

Hollywood Curling provides all the necessary equipment for this session. Wear loose fitting pants, and a sweatshirt. You should dress in layers - it can be chilly on the ice, but you heat up quickly once you start playing and sweeping. Bring clean flat-soled comfortable shoes. (Tennis shoes or sneakers work well.)

We also have our little snack table with hot/cold beverages and some light snacks. At the end of the session we raffle out lots of prizes......
